Very high quality, too sharp & harsh for me

EV50M is a super high quality product, works very well and reliably. For about a month of use, I've never had such a single failure on anything with this system (unlike e.g. JBL). Also the mobile app is very reliable and well working. Kudos EV for the high quality product.

The sound is too sharp, clean, and unfortunately, too harsh and "sterile" for me. There's also a lack of a certain mid-freq spectrum, which I miss. I want a speaker with warmer and smoother sound, and this EV is just not right for me. It's very loud and powerful, but I often reach out to lower the volume because the highs are super "sharp" and that takes part of the joy of listening away. The sharpness gives great clarity of the sound, and it's very powerful, but to enjoy, I prefer warmth & smoothness and this speaker doesn't have it. Before the EV50m, I've had a JBL EON ONE MK2, and honestly I've had a more joyful sound experience with - it's not as accurate and loud as the EV50, but it was more pleasant to listen to. I certainly don't reach out to lower the volume on the JBL MK2, while on the EV50, I often wish to lower it down, just because this sharpness & harshness makes it difficult for me to listen continuously. The bass of the EV50M sounds very good.

I've had it for about a month, and I'm sending it back. It just doesn't sound good to me. If you want smooth and warm sound for parties, events and also casual & joyful listening it's not the right speaker in my opinion. If you need a powerful, high quality speaker system with a PA sound signature, the EV 50M does a great job. It's loud, clear, it's software & app work great and reliably and will likely serve you well for years.

these speakers are fantastic. there is a line array column of speakers that disperse sound in all directions. light and easy to set up and maneuver, these are the 3rd set of them I have bought for my company.

Great column pa, sound is amazing and it’s very easy to use between set up and using the app. Very convenient, the roller bag/case is good but could be sturdier for the price, gets pretty beaten up quickly when used frequently. The features on the app are great in terms of eq, effects etc. I’ve been using it for 2 years now and never any problems and sound always fantastic.

Ein perfektes Säulensystem

Wir haben für unser Orchester mit ca. 20 Musikern eine leicht zu transportierende Anlage mit gutem Klang gesucht, welche ohne zusätzlichen Mischer auskommt.

Die Wahl viel auf die EV Evolve50 M.

Den ersten Test der Anlage haben wir im Freien gemacht und das Orchester mit 4 Mikrofonen, abgenommen. Das Ergebnis war beeindruckend.

Der Eigensound des Orchesters wurde hervorragend verstärkt.

Das Klangbild war sehr ausgewogen und druckvoll. Wir waren positiv überrascht wie trotz der einfachen Aufstellung der Mikrofone ein so rundes und angenehmes Klangbild ohne Rückkopplungen durch die einzelnen Instrumentengruppen erzeugt wurde.

Durch den Abstrahlwinkel der Säule von 120 Grad und der Position hinter den MusikerInnen sind für uns nun Monitorboxen überflüssig. Wir hatten keine Rückkopplung.

Die Bedienung und das Mischen ist per App-Steuerung über Bluetooth in ca. 15 bis 20 Meter Entfernung zur Box kein Problem. Man hat so die Möglichkeit aus dem Orchester heraus noch eine Feinabstimmung vorzunehmen.

Unser Fazit:

Ein super Säulensystem, klar, transparent und mit druckvollem Bass.

Es bietet uns eine gute Ausgangsposition für weitere „Soundexperimente“ mit dem eingebauten Dynacord Mixer und weiteren Mikros.

Für einen normalen kleineren Konzertbetrieb (bis 50-100) Zuhörer ist eine EV Säule absolut ausreichend. Bei größeren Veranstaltungen werden wir unser zweites EV Säulensystem koppeln.

Auch DJ‘s, Gesangs Duos mit Keyboard/Gitarre und Rock- /Popbands sollten dieses Säulensystem unbedingt testen.
