In operation the 'push pull' mechanism is very smooth and works well. BUT unlike other pots, this operates more as a 'push and push' mechanism - a bit like some biro/pens. Rather than pulling the knob upwards to split the coil, you push down again and it comes up of its own accord. Going to deduct one star for this because not mentioned in the product description and nobody likes surprises! But of course it is fine. The pot works well in practice. I am using it and would recommend.
