Cercavo un piatto china di grande diametro da usare come effetto speciale per le mie registrazioni casalinghe. Il suono è molto potente e con un bel decay. Ho apportato un paio di modifiche: ho allargato il diametro del buco della campana perchè era troppo stretto (tenete presente che vi potrebbe capitare di farlo) e ho aggiunto dei rivetti per avvicinare il suono a quello che cercavo. Non è stato faticoso, in quanto il piatto non ha un grande spessore e la lega è piuttosto mordbida. Non avendo attività live, non posso valutarne la resistenza se sottoposto ad un uso intenso e ad alti volumi in concerto. In ogni caso sono soddisfatto del prodotto.

Sound:
Very loud with fast attack, raw low tone and medium sustain exotic hiss. Needs strong punch to reach full potential but then it cuts through in all kind of music. Heavy cymbal which require stabile stand but it's quite easy to control from the beginning in studio and live applications.

Sound as a ride:
Nice alternative if you need something like swish ride. Crisp, sandy ping with wide range of tones from center to the edge. Easy to control in all kind of patterns.

Mallet sticks sound:
Good choice if you are searching oriental gong sound. Works well from soft to loud playing even with fast hitting.

Quality:
Hand crafted so if you look at the thickness you can find thinner and fatter surfaces or more traces of hammering. However it's still fair quality.

Summary:
Depends on the user and style but it could be too rough and loud for light drumming, perhaps not if you searching swish patterns. For me it's a best choice if you play heavy grooves and need huge cutting through accents.
