Used It with Ukulele - Does the Job, Great Value
StoningRolls 09.09.2021
I needed something to connect my soprano ukulele to the computer (for recording), and I realized this might be the cheapest way to do it, if I didn't want to use any external microphones.

The pickup is very easy to place (using the accompanying sticky blue-tac-like paste), and does the job as you'd expect. For the ukulele, I realize the optimal placement is NOT under the bridge, as acoustic guitar users suggest, but right below the sound hole.

Two IMPORTANT things to consider:
1) You'll need some sort of preamp. I plugged it to my Zoom G1X, and it works flawlessly (plus, I got some cool effects).
2) Be VERY careful with feedback. I stupidly turned my guitar amp toward myself while trying to play. The pickup... picks up sound, which above a certain volume can cause some massive feedback. Turn the speaker the other way around, lower the volume, or use headphones.

Other than that, not much to add. It's not professional-grade, but it definitely does the job.

A true surprise

I use a lot of different instruments live, from lutes to flamenco guitars and much more. this is frankly a very good working way of amplifying acoustic instruments. It works fine. I suggest anyway to use a preamp to get a better sound.

It's good emough for...
Parrotica 14.11.2020
This piece of gear is usable for just about any acoustic instrument, we tried violins, acoustic guitars, and for the hell of it we put it on an electric guitar. And it worked just fine, the sound quality is good, but the volume you can get trough it without a preamp is quite low if you do a folk jam gig, but other than that, I recommend it. Cheap and versatile, I say give it a shot.

No complaints

Needed something cheap and easy to aplify a banjo in band sessions. Got just that. Keeps falling off every now and then but that just adds to the live exprerience. Level of sound was surprisingly good for such low price.
