I have been using this cable for years and couldn't be more pleased. The cable itself is coated in a sort of soft plastic that gives ever so slightly to hard pressure and provides a bit of pleasing friction.
I have used this cable hundreds of time onstage as part of my standard setup. Have never had a problem with it. I normally make sure to have 1 extra of each kind of cable in my bag just in case I have a failure, but (stupid as it may be) I've stopped carrying an extra of this kind - it's just been working for me perfectly for so long that I feel I can rely on it forever.
I wonder if there's something about a RCA plug that is inherently more sturdy than a jack plug? Something about the stresses being applied evenly to the outer edge as well as the middle perhaps? At any rate, plug and unplug a jack a few thousand times and it's almost certainly going to have a problem at some point. I can't say the same about these RCA cables.
Couldn't be more pleased. Truly a great cable.
