Meinl BCA2NT/EBK-M Bongo Cajon

Compré este Bongo al vérselo a varios compañeros percusionistas y tener mas opciones en el backline de mi estudio. Pero para nada es lo mismo pedirlo online que probarlo en persona. El que me ha llegado es como si golpeas cualquier objeto que tengas por casa, no hay diferencia entre el lado agudo y el grave. Sin embargo he probado otros que sonaban muy bien, asi que influye mucho la fabricación. De todos modos, el mío, no vale.

I was initially not impressed by this instrument - In the product videos/recordings you hear a clearly defined bongo sound with a subtle snare effect - on these the snare effect completely drowns out the bongo tones leaving only a very harsh snare sound especially on the deeper section. I don't know whether this is because of the way they mic'd or edited the video recording or whether there are big variations in tone between individual models. All was not lost though - I removed the snares and found a very nice pure bongo tone - better in my opinion than the tone produced by the similarly sized snareless bongo cajon (supernatural) - the wood seems to be slightly thinner on this model and it is thus easier to get nice tones without having to strike the surface too hard. So without the snares it is in fact a very nice sounding bongo cajon in it's own right. So I have given this product 4 stars because, out of the box it didn't sound very good, but with a small adjustment it has improved dramatically. In the meantime I have decided to carefully trim one third of the length off the snare wires using metal snips and plan to try these out tonight as this should reduce the amount of rattle from the snares - I will update this review tomorrow with the results... Update: Reducing the length of the snares didn't reduce the rattling enough - neither did reducing the number of individual wires - it was just passable on the high pitched side but I couldn't get rid of the overpowering rattle on the low side. So I am going to settle for a nice snareless cajon - would rather try one hands on before buying next time...

je possède un set cajon et percu. Et par cette instrument cela me permet de compléter mon set avec son son qui n'est pas un son de bongo mais pas un son de cajon non plus. Je m'explique il y un timbre sous la surface qui rappelle le son du cajon mais la caisse de résonance rappelle les bongos et on arrive bien à jouer avec ces deux sons. bien sur il manque de la résonance . Cela est du au manque de peau mais cet instrument dépanne bien et surprend les gens qui sont curieux à son sujet. pour conclure un super instrument pour compléter un set cajon.

Ich bin ein angehender Musikpädagoge und spiele Schlazeug und Klavier. ich liebe Perkussionsinstrumente und als ich diese Bongo Cajon gesehen habe, musste ich sie mir einfach kaufen:)
Diese Bongo Cajon ist meiner Ansicht nach ein sehr vielfältig einsetzbares Instrument. Ausser der Schlagfläche, bieten auch die Seiten zusätzliche Klänge.
Optisch ein sehr schönes Stück! sehr gut verarbeitet!
Ich habe bei meinem, unter der großen Kammer, ein Stück Stoff zwischen dem Snareteppich und der Schlagfläche getan, sodass ich nur bei dem Hightone den Snaresound habe. dadurch kann ich einen klanglich besser differenzierbaren Groove erzeugen.

PS. Falls ihr einen Störsound (ein Schnarren des Teppichs) wahrnehmt, schraubt die Schrauben etwas lockerer, so könnt ihr ihn beseitigen und der Sound ist rein!:)
