Harley Benton Fusion-III EMG HT Roasted SBK

C'est là une chouette guitare, avec un chouette look (même s'il ne me paraît pas raccord avec la gamme de sons de la dame), un poids plume...
En gros, je fais quoi, avec ça?
Du blues (en y allant mollo sur le volume), du blues-rock, du hard rock, du heavy metal et du thrash metal. En gros, tout ce qui a pu se jouer entre 1970 et 2000. Ne vous trompez pas (trop): malgré son look noir satiné sobre, elle vous emmènera vers des terres faites de justaucorps rouges pétants, de choucroutes peroxydées, ou d'ambiances heavy crâne rasé-sangles en cuir-perfecto. Si parmi vos tabs, on trouve surtout Maiden, Van Halen, Judas, Metallica, etc., alors, cette guitare mérite votre attention.
Toutefois, en dépit de ses micros actifs, ceux-ci ont une patate modérée et arrivent à sonner précis. N'espérez pas invoquer Odin dans la forêt à Trondheim, elle ne suivra pas. Mais si vous voulez aller au Panama, rencontrer Charlotte ou chanter l'Oeil Electrique, franchement, elle vous épatera (surtout dans un 5150).
Après, elle s'en sort dans un Plexi sans rougir, mais... l'achèterez-vous pour ça? Sommairement:
Les plus:
-le design
-les EMG Retro Active (même s'il faut aimer)
-les potards (si, si, il faut le dire)
-le manche, très esthétique, mais aussi très confortable
-un vrai poids plume
Les moins:
-les mécas bloquantes qui ne bloquent pas forcément tant que ça
-des micros qui se distinguent en fin de compte assez peu entre manche et chevalet
-un look trop moderne par rapport à la gamme de sons (et puis, le satiné, c'est fragile)
-mon chat adore se frotter dessus :(

I've been playing on a half broken LTD EC-100QM for more than a decade. I decided it was time for an upgrade and a little change so I bought myself this guitar for my 30th birthday. I honestly couldn't be happier.

First of all, it's a beautiful guitar. The smooth mat body, the natural looking maple neck and the contrast between the two makes for a sober yet modern look. The color and shape of the headstock is my favorite. The shiny model signature and the inverted head is the cherry on top. Overall it's very pleasant to look at. It's also got fluorescent fret markers as a bonus.

When it comes to sound, I wouldn't say it's necessarily a metal guitar only : it's pretty versatile in my opinion. But you would be missing out if you didn't crank up some distortion while playing it. I play everything from Death, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Opeth, Tool to more modern/obscure stuff and the guitar handles it all very well. From prog stuff to bluesy stuff to metal : if you can play it the guitar will follow. The EMG mics are great and the sustain is really good. Everything sounds clear and pops out. The knobs and mic switch allows for even more options when moddeling sound.

The overall feel when playing is very comfortable and smooth. I was struggling with some parts on my previous guitar but I know that I will make progress now that I have the fusion, especially for solos/shredding parts. The maple neck is out of this world. The bridge is very comfortable when doing palm mutes and resting your hands there feels like it was made for it. One thing I have to point out is that the frets were a bit rough and might need a bit of polishing but it's nothing dramatic.

The guitar holds tuning really well thanks to the locking tuners. This is a welcome change for me as I don't find myself constantly re-tuning after every bend.

The guitar came in perfect condition thanks to thomann. No scratches or anything weird. It was barely out of tune when it arrived.

Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend it. As other have said, the price/value ratio here is ridiculous and this might be one of the best guitars at this price.

Je me suis tourné vers cette guitare suite à une grosse déception de la part de la Charvel Signature Joe Duplentier.
Franchement je possède 4 Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas Usa, Mexicaine et Japonaise et la qualité de cette Duplentier faite à Taïwan n'était clairement pas similaire au miennes.

Bref, j'ai donc commandé cette Harley Benton, et honnêtement, c'est un truc de fou.

Pour 200€ de moins j'avais une qualité supérieur à la Charvel Duplentier. Niveau finition c'est impeccable, le son déboîte. Je compte tout de même changé les micros parce que pas fan d'Emg en général.

Je pense qu'Harley Benton à sa place parmi les plus grands constructeurs de guitare et de basse du marché. Surtout si ces derniers font de la merde à prix exorbitants.
Pour un peu plus de 400€ j'ai une guitare qui tient la route et du coup il me reste un peu de budget pour l'upgrader en micros pour la transformer en machine à riff.

I was looking for a long time for a stealth-looking, modern, Super ST metal guitar and this has it all. 10/10 looks and the inverted headstock are the cherry on top, makes it stand out and feels more premium.
The specs are great, absolutely zero sharp frets and the pickups are quite warm and not so hot. This is probably the first guitar that I feel comfortable soloing with the bridge pickup. Also, the neck pickup doesn't sound so 'nasal' like they usually do.
My only remark is regarding the bridge.
Ideally, I would have preferred a non fixed bridge of any kind, quite possibly a Floyd, but perhaps the price would have gone up quite a bit. My bridge came a bit damage, with very tiny scratches on the paint, but it is the kinda thing that only I will ever notice and it doesn't affect the looks or playability.
In short, I'm extremely happy with it and would definitely buy again.
