Markov Resonant Shoulder Rest Violin

To look at, this shoulder rest doesn't scream comfort and yet, somehow, it is the most comfortable shoulder rest I think I've ever used. It just fits. It is practically invisible and what do you see is incredibly sleek.
The fit is perfect and it's extremely stable.
Nothing could have prepared me for the difference in sound. It seems that not only does it not choke the instrument like traditional shoulder rest, but it even helps the sound resonate and boosts the deep and rich sound of my instrument.

I am extremely impressed and, as I write this early in the morning, I cannot wait to play my violin and discover more about the instrument I thought I knew.

The only negative (?!) is that, due to its unconventional shape, it doesn't fit into my current violin case. Case shopping it is!

When I purchased this shoulder rest, I was only looking for a bigger sound. Because as you must know, most of the shoulder rests make the violin sounds smaller than normal. After I started to play with it, I was amazed by the quality of the sound! It is from the wood and because it is a bit hard on the feeling, this might be difficult for some musicians to get used to it, but if I count the positive effects on my playing, this is really a small problem for me.

For stability and support I should say that I’m impressed. It lets my fingers move on the violin so much easier than normal! Overall I am happy with it.

Vor einiger Zeit habe ich festgestellt, daß der Klang meiner Violine ohne eine herkömmliche Schulterstütze wirklich viel besser ist. Daraufhin habe ich nach Alternativen gesucht, denn ganz ohne kann ich nicht spielen. Bisher hatte ich die Bonmusica, die eher das gegenteilige Konzept für Schulterstützen darstellt. Mit der Wolf, die ich vorher hatte, bin ich überhaupt nicht zurechtgekommen. Meine Wahl fiel dann auf die Markov Resonant und die AccoustaGrip, die ich beide bestellt habe und auch beide behalten werde. Beide funktionieren für mich, wobei die AccoustaGrip komfortabler ist. Ich bin mir jedoch nicht sicher, ob der Schaumstoff und vor allem die Haftfläche allzulange halten wird. Die Markov Resonant hingegen scheint für die Ewigkeit gemacht. Sie ist wirklich toll verarbeitet und auch sehr schön. Man befestigt sie am Knopf und einer Ecke. Die Stütze sitzt dadurch sehr fest und sie verrutscht nicht. Ich habe mir noch ein kleine Stück Stoff zwischen den Gummi und die Befestigung der Schulterstütze geklemmt, damit mir Diese nicht so sehr auf das Schlüsselbein drückt. Der größte Nachteil der Markov Resonant ist der wirklich sehr hohe Preis, deswegen gibt es einen Punkt Abzug. Die AccoustaGrip ist auch nicht gerade preiswert zu nennen, wenn man bedenkt, das es sich letztlich um ein Stück Schaumstoff handelt. Ich bin gespannt, wie ich auf längere Sicht mit den Beiden zurechtkomme. Wenn man noch nicht wirklich die Schulterstütze gefunden hat, die zu einem passt, sind beide Modelle sicherlich einen Versuch wert.
