Asparion D400T

I use this with cubase. It seems to have lot of useful functions. Jog AND shuttle. I have MCU's for fader so I do not use the extensions nor display. Build is good, solid metal, knobs are plastic. It is quite flexible, however the manuals are totally useless and only cover things for the beginners and NO technical information what ever. It is quite easy to connect a DAW and see what buttons send what midi. But nothing at all about seding midi to the device. It has a lot of potential useful leds. And they work fine with the test application. And there is no information how to change that it sends. It would not be a big deal if was not for that some buttons use the same messages. For example the 1-8 knob send the same "noteoff" midi as the shuttle. And in some modes the shuttle does not send anything? And the shift button can not be assigned to send midi at all. One neat feature is the double klick function on some knobs. But it can not be assigned to all. Same for the shift. For the price I expected more. It is not new so the firmware issues should been sorted out by now. I could have been great, I should have been great, it still can be great. But now it is not.

I have updated to latest software and most of the issues are fixed!

Am Anfang war ich recht begeistert, aufgrund der hochwertigen Verarbeitung und muss nun leider feststellen, dass all die aufgeführten kompatiblen DAW Presets nur rudimentär konfiguriert ausgeliefert werden. Teilweise sind aber selbst hier die Beleuchtungen der Taster "Off" obgleich sie bei Aktivierung "On" sein müssten (Cubase Preset beim Metronom Button z.B) und Doppelklicks die wichtig sind wie z.B. Stop für das (einmal ) einfache anhalten und (zweimal klick) für die 0 Rücksetzung des Transports und viele anderen grundsätzlichen Funktionen, werden nicht Out Of The Box unterstützt.

Die Idee eines generischen Controllers für viele DAWs ist super. Ich arbeite mit Nuendo, Bitwig und Ableton. Das Produkt ist auch toll verarbeitet. Aber die Arbeitszeit, die man als User investieren muss , damit das Produkt vernünftig funktioniert ist sehr hoch. Zu hoch für mich.

Das Handbuch ist relativ nichtsagend ausgefallen und geht von einem DAW Spezialisten aus, der schlichtweg seine eigenen Funktions- Presets baut.

So gut die grundlegende Hardware und Software auch sind. Der Controller ist weit weg von einer Out of the Box Nutzung. Wenn sich der Hersteller darum gekümmert hätte, prfoessionell vorparametrisierte DAW Setups bzw Scripte mitzuliefern, dann wäre das Produkt sicher ein immens großer Erfolg. Aber ich befürchte, dass es so nichts wird.

Auch wenn der Support sofort erreichbar ist, und extrem hilfreich war und alles an der Firma sympatisch erscheint, so sehr mangelt es möglicherweise an der Einsicht ein vernünftiges Handbuch mit ausführlichen Konfigurationsbeispielen zu schreiben und dem Endpreis angemessen voll funktionierende Presets/ Scripte mitzuliefern.
