Ibanez 70th Anniv. GRG121SP-SV

I always get attracted to anything "limited", "anniversary", "FSR" and alike. Usually I resist the urge, but not this time. Despite the grainy image on the product page, sparkly (I assumed it would be sparkly) silver finish with matching headstock sound to attractive to pass, especially at that price. In addition, YT reviews of this model were quite positive, which made the purchase less chancy.

Well, the finish is exactly as I expected. Gentle sparkle silver, if you like that kind of finishes. Roasted maple looks really nice, too, and fits nicely with this finish. There are few small blemishes in the finish, nothing major. Instrument is well built, I found no problems. As reviews noted, neck is somewhat chunkier, feeling slightly strange in hand, but easy to get used to. Action is a tad on a higher side, but not unplayable (at least I am not too picky about it). No sharp frets, not polished either. If I recall correctly, reviews complained about tuners. I'll probably replace them down the road, but for now they work good enough.Pickups will stay for a while, but I do plan to replace them with set of Fishman pickups later. All in all, I am very happy about this purchase.

Mal wieder eine Gitarre, die Andy Ferris "the guitar geek" on youboutube empfohlen hat. Und wieder wurde ich nicht enttäuscht. Das Ding ist der Hammer. Und das nicht nur "für den Preis". Ich habe eine veertel Drehung den Hals nachgespannt. Danach war die Gitarre bühnentauglich mit 1,2 mm am 12 Bund. Sorry Harley Benton, aber das ist etwas an dem ihr arbeiten müsst. Während bei anderen chinesischen Gitarren Bespielbarkeit und Qualtät oftmals eine Glückssache ist, scheint das bei Ibanez einfach Standard zu sein. Toller Job Ibanez.
