The legend is back

This pedal needs do introduction. The bluesbreaker is simply legendary and Marshall did a great job with this reissue.

For those who spent over 500$ for a vintage bluesbreaker you have my condolences, for those who didn't and bought this instead, you've got yourself a legendary near-bulletproof pedal that would probably outlive you.

This thing is fantastic, if you are a John Mayer fan get this thing, you're able to reach the Continuum tone at a relatively low price while stagging Tube Screamers. However, the downside is that you have to turn all the knobs over at 3 o'clock if you need to get a “right” sound...

Gelungene Neuauflage des Bluesbreakers

Da ist er endlich wieder, der schwarz-blaue Bluesbreaker. Marshall hatte ein Einsehen, wie schön. Was kann das Pedal? Schon mal keine High-Gain-Verzerrung, so viel ist mal klar. Ideal ist der Bluesbreaker um ein Clean-Signal sehr dynamisch etwas anzublasen und vor allem etwas anzuzerren. Das macht dieser Effekt einfach perfekt. Das Cleasignal bleibt wunderbar klar, bis man etwas doller in die Saiten greift, und dann übersteuert der Ton als würde ein Röhrenamp an seine natürliche Grenze kommen. Für Blues einfach großartig...
Ich bin in der glücklichen Lage das Vintage-Original als Vergleich zu haben. Den Reissue habe ich gekauft, weil mein Sohn die ganze Zeit auf meinen spekuliert hat. Ich möchte Interessenten hier mal den direkten Vergleich beschreiben. Vorab: Marshall hat einen guten Job gemacht. Es ist schon so ziemlich das gleiche Pedal geworden. Und wo sind die Unterschiede? Ich habe es ähnlich empfunden, wie im Test von Gitarre und Bass. Der Vintage-Bluesbreaker ist etwas wärmer im Ton, vielleicht auch etwas leiser. Er erzeugt sehr musikalische schmatzende hohle Mitten ohne zu komprimieren. Das neue Pedal ist hingegen etwas schärfer abgeschmeckt. Die Höhen sind eine Nuance aggressiver und das Hohle im Ton fehlt etwas. Komprimieren tut der Neue aber auch nicht. Die Potis haben beim Reissue einen anderen Regelweg. Beim Original passiert erst sehr spät etwas, so ab 14:00 Uhr, beim Neuen etwas früher, vielleicht ab 12:00. Zur Einordnung: Wir haben das mit einer LP mit Throbaks über einen 76er Princeton Reverb getestet. Gelungene Neuauflage!
