This is one of those unusual items that took a while for me to try. If you are running out of stands for smaller splashes, bells or chimes, well you can get 5 on this ! You don't need to bother with felts or wing nuts, BUT it does change the sound. There is less wash and top, but more ding. The rubberised mounts make the difference. Unfortunately mine arrived with some sticky seepage coming from the mounts, which required a bit of cleaning up with methylated spirit, but worth the effort.
