Almost perfect, but not quite there

I will start by saying that I am no sound technician, nor musician, I am just someone who enjoys music.
After reading a lot of reviews on the internet and many hours of searching, I decided to order the DT-880 and the Sennheiser HD 650. I wanted a pair of headphones that deliver clean, and warm sound at a reasonable price but I unfortunately ended up sending back both.
For me the HD 650 sound perfect, the highs are there and they are very clear, the mids and the lows are great. Not to much bass, not to little, just enough to move you.
The problem I have with them and the reason I ended up sending them back is because they weren't comfortable enough for me.
They clam to hard and the headband didn't feel soft enough. I found myself focusing more on the pressure they exerted on skull and ears instead of enjoying the music. I could not bear them for hours, that is for sure.
I now know that the ideal headphone for me would sound like the HD 650 but have the comfort of the DT-880. I don't know if they exist but I sure hope they don't cost a fortune. :)

Använder dessa tillsammans med ett par Sennheiser HD-25 för att justera mixar och slaskmixa när det inte går att köra på högtalare.
Har en välbalanserad frekvensåtergivning och jag blir ofta förvånad över hur mycket nya ljud jag upptäcker när jag lyssnar med dessa som inte kommer fram i konsumenthögtalare.
Nu för tiden är det viktigt att saker och ting låter bra i hörlurar då otroligt mycket musik och poddar konsumeras i flygande fläng och tillsamman med HD25 är det perfekt att hitta bra balans för en mix som funkar i dyrare "finlurar" såväl som i billiga öronsnäckor.

Verkligen nöjd!! Väldigt prisvärda hörlurar för att mixa i. Är inte super breda i sitt ljud för de som tänker på sånt men annars väldigt rent och bra ljud!

An etermal sound

I purchased the Sennheiser HD650s as I was looking for a set of open backed headphones with a neutral frequency response. After reading a lot of reviews and opinions I was convinced that this was the best choice in this price range and I have not been disappointed.

The sound is beyond anything I have experienced before, even while being driven from my Mackie audio interface's output. While the impedance of these headphones is high (300 Ohm) they are still fairly easy to drive, so do not feel pressured into buying an amp before trying them on your current setup, even my laptops inbuilt sound card could drive them to a satisfactory volume.

These are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned and I have regularly worn these through long production sessions and work days. After the first couple of weeks, the clamp force reduced and they are very secure and light.

To note: The first set I purchased had a defect in the cable connection and Thomann was quite responsive, despite the brexit shipping disruptions and replaced my set within a month. The version currently being sold is produced in Romania not Ireland doesn't come with a storage / carrying box.

To conclude, the clarity and reproduction of these headphones is fantastic, even after 15 years in production, they are still competitive, truly an eternal sound!
