Great songbook with some minor problems

Most of the songs are really good picks. A few, while being iconic, beautiful pieces of music, don't actually make good solos (like Duel of the Fates). But overall the selection is quite decent.

The songs are made more accessible for beginners by printing an octave-shifted counterpart of the more difficult notes below the note itself. This in itself would be a very nice and considerate thing, but it's annoying how the simplified (and musically inferior) version is handled as default: the demo tracks play these and they are also bigger in print.

The attached digital content is very good with demo recordings, playalongs and piano accompaniments and it comes DRM-free. The only nitpick here that it would be better shipped on an SD card or as a digital download; having an optical drive is not a given anymore.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase. Aside from some minor flaws, it's a great book.

Da ich nicht selbst Trompete spiele und das Buch verschenkt habe, kann ich nur kurz die Meinung des Beschenkten wiedergeben: "Eine tolle Auswahl an Arrangements! Nicht zu einfach, nicht zu schwer. Macht Freude!".

Der Beschenkte ist ein Wiedereinsteiger, der nach längerer Pause das Trompetenspiel erst vor kurzem wieder aufgenommen hat. Außerdem liebt er Filme. Daher ist das Buch einfach perfekt für ihn! :)

Die 60 Stücke mit Playback Tracks machen echt Spaß und sind den Originalinstrumentierungen zum Großteil sehr ähnlich, dadurch macht es viel Spaß zu spielen. Die Trompetenstimme ist im Großen und Ganzen korrekt, bestenfalls vereinfacht, aber nicht - wie es manchmal vorkommt - total entstellt. Wer es besser weiß oder kann, soll ruhig "Superman" eine Oktave höher spielen ;-)
Die Demoaufnahmen mit Tompete sind hilfreich. Die Begleitstimmen für das Klavier (auf der CD enthaltene pdfs) erscheinen mir ebenfalls recht gelungen, ideal für einen Klassenabend mit etwas fortgeschrittenen Schülern. Fazit: Zugreifen und viel Spaß! Mein momentaner Favourite: Harry's Wonderous World ...

L'arrangement est correct et les solos sonnent bien avec l'accompagnement. La difficulté correspond à mon niveau (intermédiaire), c'est à dire ni trop simple ni trop difficile. Bref, je suis satisfait de cet achat.
