Excellent sound quality

This microphone is one of the best things I've used money on. The sound quality is superb, with a lot of headroom and a very natural-sounding profile. I'm using it with my cello but I bought also an adapter clip to use it with a microphone stand so I can use it with any instrument.

It is very sensitive and the supercardioid polar pattern ignores a lot of outside noise, but some of it almost always leaks to the signal. You have to be careful not to use too much gain with it.

Some features I'm not so happy about. In the cord connector there's a clip (belt clip?) which I dont understand how to remove. I tried moving it and I accidentally broke the tip of the clip. In my opinion it's a bit useless. Also I'm a bit worried about the very thin cable, which is long and therefore subject for accidental damage.

It's a bit difficult to assemble to the cello strings, there's not a lot of room for fingers and you have to carefully plan in which order you connect everything. But after this, you can enjoy a very brilliant and textured sound. Sound quality is so good that I don't mind the other problems.

While playing, it is sometimes hard to tell how good a mic like this is, precisely because transparency is the aim! There is no doubt that it is amazingly precise AND 'musical', and that small changes of position make significant differences, valid in their own right. Something it excelled at also, beyond expectation, is how the richness of the signal is translated putting it though effects (in this case an analogue RM on its own). This is quite revelatory for me. Altogether a great thing!

Ich verwende das Mikrofon für die Verstärkung eines mit Hoteldämpfer gedämpften Cellos, das ich dann mit einem Verstärker über einen Kopfhörer normal laut höre. Damit ist 24 stündiges Üben in Hotels, mit geräuschempfindlichen Familienmitgliedern und Nachbarn endlich kein Problem mehr. Setze zur Verstärkung ein Mischpult mit Effektgerät ein (Allen & Heath ZED-12FX Kleinmixer), Der Sound im Kopfhörer (AKG K-702) ist trotz der extremen Dämpfung des Cellos klasse! Diese Technologie ist elektronischen Silent Celli, die ich zuvor probierte (und zwar alle z.Zt. von Yamaha angebotenen Modelle) für die Anwendung "leises Spielen" m.E. haushoch überlegen - der Klang ist erheblich besser, laesst sich mit dem Mischpult "tunen" und es fühlt sich beim Spielen eben alles wie das eigene Cello an. Und diese Lösung ist zudem preisgünstiger: 920 Euro kosten Mikrofon, Mischpult und Kopfhörer zusammen. Das günstigste Yamaha Silent Cello liegt bei ca. 1.600 Euro

Très bon micro mais long à mettre en place et semble fagile

J'utilise ce micro depuis quelques années en répétition branché sur un ampli ACUS 8 for strings, souvent avec une loopstation RC 300 entre les deux.
Ce micro est fiable. Le son rendu est vraiment proche du son du violoncelle. Par contre, il faut avouer que s'il est branché directement sur une table de mixage, le rendu est très froid. L'ampli ajoute beaucoup à la chaleur du son.
J'avoue que le montage des différentes pièces du micro me rebute à chaque fois que je dois l'utiliser. C'est long... et demande beaucoup de précautions. Le câble de sortie est très très fin et semble fragile. De même le rangement dans le boîtier prévu pour le micro est un peu trop court et oblige à plier le câble si on ne veut pas écraser la bonette du micro. Pour autant, je n'ai pas eu de souci avec, mais vu les précautions que je prends, je ne sais pas s'il est vraiment fragile ou pas...
