Eminence Cannabis Rex-12 16 Ohm

I replaced the Vintage 30's in my Harley benton cab with these, since I was just plain tired of that shrill mid-spike that the V30's are known for. I now use a combination of two V30's (Which I plan to replace in the future as well) and two of these, and the blend is just beautiful. These speakers are dark, gritty and round out the brightness of the two V30's very nicely, and despite what Eminence markets Cannabis Rexes for, they work absolutely beautifully for the sort of extreme metal I play. The only real critique I can think of is that the bass might be a bit woofy and overbearing in some contexts, but I've noticed it's barely a problem if I just turn the bass on my amp down a little bit.

My guitar amp had a Celestion Seventy 80 that I wanted to replace. I wanted a louder speaker that would increase clean headroom and have a better string definition. Once I replaced it with Eminence Cannabis Rex, I immediately heard an improvement! I couldn't believe that a speaker could make such a big difference. Even though, it hasn't been broken in, it didn't have the stiffness associated with new speakers. I can only imagine how good it will sound after a few months. Cannabis Rex has a 101.7 dB sensitivity that makes it noticeably louder than most guitar speakers. Now I can get more volume without going into the overdrive territory. However, the thing that impressed me the most was the smoothness of the tone. The highs are extremely clear and crisp yet there is no harshness whatsoever. Somehow this speaker manages to sound warm without being too dark. I almost forgot to mention that it is very well built. The frame feels very solid and has eight mounting holes to fit all cabinets. I really like the fact that it is made in the USA because I like to know that I am not supporting underpaid Asian labor. It's an amazing speaker for a relatively low price. I can't express how happy I am that I chose the Cannabis Rex.

This speaker is a perfekt match for any fender amp.
I use it in my deluxe reverb and really love the sound.
It takes a couple of days to break in before it sings.
I also use this speaker together with a GVT15 combo.
The sound of that combo is FAT and big like a Fender twin!
I think this speaker is one of the best "clean" speakers ever
made, if you play jazz, blues or country you will like this speaker.

after a guitar friend of mine was telling me about these and giving them a glowing review I thought I 'd get a couple and make up a 2x12 with an empty palmer 2x12 cabinet made by eminence also
well after after giving these speakers some playing in time , which wasn't long I found they deliver a smooth gentle sound that have loverly cleans that would work well in jazz and country and in general clean sounds and worked well with a strat and p90's , and i'd give these speaker full marks for a gentle soft sound , but the surprize that comes is when you push them a bit more, and they break up a little bit not too much but enough to work well for rock too , quite a surprize and very nice , and I look forward to getting to know these speakers a bit better and pushing them more as they react very well
