Not perfect but okay
I bought this guitar mainly because of the comfortable contour tele body, which happily comes in the really nice looking Lake Placid Blue. FYI I don’t like the traditional tele body shape, because it presses on my ribs while playing in certain body positions.
The guitar’s body is made of poplar, which is a light weight wood. The light weight makes the guitar feel a bit cheap and somewhat like a toy, but on the other hand makes it very comfortable to play with.
The back of the neck feels grainy, like fine sand paper. It really needs to be sanded to make the neck playable.
After only a few minutes of playing the thoroghly dry, bit otherwise good looking fretboard left my fingers dirty. Like really dirty. Don’t know yet if it’s the strings or the fretboard or both, but some cleaning up has to be done.
The volume and tone knobs were slightly tilted for some reason, which made the other side of the knobs rub against the plate, but using a bit of force to straighten the knobs out fixed that issue.
The pickups sound surprisingly good and the tuners seem to do their job just fine, for now.
All in all, this is a good guitar for the price, but some minor DIY job has to be done to make it nice to play with.
