Harley Benton Mighty-5TH

Nyt pari viikkoa olen nupin omistanut ja täytyy sanoa, että jokaiselle sentille löytyy vastinetta vahvistimesta. Vaikka kuinka kriittisesti olen yrittänyt etsiä kehnoa kohtaa vehkeestä, niin ainoa miinus on kotelon kiinnitysruuvien reikien/ruuvien laatu, pari kertaa kun avaa ja sulkee kotelon niin ruuvit alkavat olemaan melko illassa. Joku voi myös löytää miinukseksi sen, että middle-säätö puuttuu vahvistimesta. Niin ja sekä reverbin uupumisen joku voi kokea puutteena.

Sitten hyviin puoliin! Saundi tietty ekana: se on aivan mahtava hintaa ajatellen, se voi osin selittyä sillä, että mitä putkia vahvistimeen on tehtaalla eksynyt. Avasin vahvistimen kun tarkoituksena oli kokeilla huvikseni toisia putkia, yllätyin iloisesti kun paljastui, että putkina oli JJ:n EL84 ja JJ:n ECC83S - eli hyvää tavaraa! Vaihdoin tilalle Tung-Solin EL84:n ja JJ:n E83CC:n (E83CC:n sanotaan olevan paranneltu versio ECC83S:stä) ja saundissa ei ollut huomattavaa eroa, ehkä uusilla putkilla hieman honottavampi kuin mitä tehdasputkilla kun vertailin eri putkilla tehtyjä nauhotuksia. Eli putkikaupoille ei tarvitse lähteä kun tämän pikku monsterin hankkii.

Kytkin jolla voi tiputtaa tehoa viidestä watista yhteen ja siitä aina 0,1W:n on mainio lisä kun kotona tulee soiteltua ja haluaa soitella putkisäröllä. 0,1W kohdalta lähtee vielä ihan hyvin ääntä nupit kaakossa. Soittelen vahvistinta koivulevystä itsetehdyn 1x12 kaapin läpi jossa elementtinä on 16ohmin Celestion Vintage 30 ja nuppi sekä kaappi toimivat oikein hyvin parina. Reverb-pedaali vaan väliin ja voi rauhassa unohtua fiilistelemään.

Voisi kuvitella, että 130 euron vahvistin ei ns. räjäytä pankkia, mutta tämä kyllä teki sen. Aivan uskomattoman hyvä hankinta. Seuraavaksi koeajoon pitää ostaa varmaankin 15W versio.

What a Killer sound !!!
No effects needed ! None ! :) (& I have them all ) ... I have been playing my harps on stage over 35 yrs & making a living from them , so sound quality is always 'A must' , to facilitate further employment .......
Pros .... Everything about this 'Little set up' is 'Sooo Cool , Distinctively Authentic & Vintage ' Sounding ..... .. At a budget price !! & All I can say - it's a seriously good bargain ..
Cons.... No line out , for P.A. .... but it is a 'tube amp' .after all .. to be expected .... "No cons, in reality" :)
You'd need to mic up the 'Speaker'..... I personally use the 'Jettenuator' .. & also put a mic in front of speaker , as a 2nd source ; for 'use on more 'Heavy Sounding songs' ... :O

I love this thing!

I was searching for a great valve practice amp and then this comes out. i've been using this amp for quite some time and i'm totally satisfied. It's great for what it cost. I strongly advise you to buy also the matching cabinet because the boundle of the head and the cabinet produce a great sound.

Pro
-) Real valve sound
-) it's possible to switch the power from 0.1W to 1W to 5W
-) very good handling of pedals
-) portable
-) good looking

Cons
-) an incomplete eq (only bass and treble) not a big problem imho
-) i have preferred to have a bright control since sometimes i feel that the amp lacks of clarity (even with single coils) but it's just a personal opinion.

Conclusion
if you are sick of poor practice amp with noisy distortion and cheap effects this is the solution. Please be aware that this thing has only a clean channel so all the effects are not included. You have to plug inside your own effects.

After 15 years with the same Marshall MG30, I wanted to upgrade. Watched loads of videos on Youtube after coming across this item and seemed pretty good. My budget is pretty low so couldn't afford any big name brand but this works wonders plugged into the HB 2x12 Vertical Cab. Having the option to toggle the watts is handy, especially in a small house with little children next door not wanting to listen to poor attempts at Meshuggah...

Works really well with my TC Electronics Fangs Distortion and Hall of Fame 2 and if I turned everything up to 10, I bet this baby could take it with ease.

I've never had a tube amp before but thie does run a little hot after a fair bit of use but this maybe normal for a tube amp. I say hot, more upper levels of warm.

All in all, if you're on a budget and have a few pedals to go along with this. Buy.
