Heavy white noise, good sound

Sound quality is good, but loud white noise is irritating. It's there from volume 0 the moment it clicks to ON. Volume doesn't effect the hissing in anyway.
I am running it through Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd gen, and it doesn't matter if I use balanced on unbalanced TRS. These might be good if you're in an loud environment, but in quiet place the hissing really gets to your nerve.

I expected less

I have bought this pair as reference monitors and they are surprisingly good. I also use them to listen to my vinyl records. I literally expected less from them but they are good.

I'd not use them as main monitors in studio because the precision is not that good. However, they allow you to spot some mixing mistakes.

Excellent studio monitor

I've tested these now with a wide variety of tracks from vocal jazz to Beethoven symphonies to hard rock. Crystal clear sound with no distortion and therefore excellent for video sound track editing. They are not large and so the bass is not prominent, but that was to be expected.
