Steinberger Guitars STADB04 Adapter 4-string BK

I wanted to try flatwound strings with my Steinberger bass but I was hesitant about finding the right kind of strings. When I discovered the string adapter my problem was solved.

The quality of the adapter is very robust and it feels like a tool that will last long. The installment of the adapter was very easy, it took only a couple of minutes. When the adapter is in it's place and the strings are tuned, I feel I don't have to worry about it at all. Because it fits and it works.

Also the appearance of the adapter is stylish and it suites my black Steinberger bass just great.

It's a simple enough thing, and it doesn't even need to be installed - it's held on by the tension of the strings.

There's one gotcha: if you over-tighten it, you'll break the string. Adding a captive flat plate of metal under the grub-screws would have increased the price, but it would probably have been worth it. Personally, I've only made that mistake once... so far.
