Bluesbreaker OD + Clean boost with a perfect price!
T-Rex Moller 2 offers a very good bluesbreaker style overdrive with a seperate clean boost function. The boost is very clean and has more than enough volume. I like how you can only use the boost without the drive on.
In addition to the basic Gain, Level and Tone controls it has a bass boost switch and a blend control, both of which are very usable. Bass swiych is not boomy at all, just makes the low mids thicker in a pleasant way. The Blend control works well in adding more note definition or making the drive more subtle at lower gain settings. Very usable feature that isn't seen on too many pedals.
I also like how to knobs show very well from far away what settings the pedal is at.
The sound itself is the best part, it has a good amount of mids and it cuts the rumbly bass really well. On some gigs I have used it as the main overdrive + a solo tone with the boost and it does that fairly well. I've done a few gigs with nothing but this pedal and a clean amp.
When I have my whole pedalboard with me I use it on a lower gain setting by itself to get nice mild crunch. But most importantly I use it to make my Big Muff Deluxe be heard in the mix! The Muff really disappears live without it but with this after the Muff I can get singing leads that are smooth sounding with infinite sustain but still cut the mix. I have also used it with distortion almost cranked into an amp close to breakup as a solo sound for recording and it sounded great.
It is really good if you know what you're buying. It's not a full range overdrive so that might be a problem for some people. I personally really like it especially for live use. It would be cool if the clean boost could be switched to be before the drive to have insane amounts of gain but that's a really small thing and I could do the same with just boosting it with another pedal if really needed.

Hieno kokonaisuus
Kevyttä lisärosoa haluavalle hyvä pedaali. Perusolemukseltaan hyvin TS-tyylinen, joskin paljon monipuolisempi.
Suurin yllätys oli itsenäisen boost-kanavan toimivuus hienosti myös yksinään. MIX-toiminto on todella käyttökelpoinen myös.
Single coileilla soitettaessa hieno lisä on myöd Bass boost-nappi, jolla saadaan pykälä tanakkuutta lisää.
Kaikin puolin kestävän oloinen laite ja kytkimet vaikuttavat parhailta, mitä on tullut vastaan.
