Does the job but...

First it looks solid and durable at first glance to me, but let's see how it ages.
Jack mono outputs are flat as expected, but the mixed XLR output has its response dropping in the high frequencies, with a -1dB~6kHz, -3dB~11kHz, -10dB~16kHz. A shame as I would think main use of such a device is to mix the stereo output of a computer, phone or such directly in a single input of a console... That is true that mixing stereo to mono is already not very clean regarding music applications, but maybe set the device in mono and use a jack output of the DI would be the cleanest then...? But to connect an amplug to a console for example that still works fine, as these very high frequencies are kind of useless regarding amp and cab sims anyway...
Also the -15dB PAD gives a ~25dB attenuation actually and not 15...

Protection pour ordinateurs et téléphones

J'ai vu quelques téléphones et ordinateurs portables griller à cause d'une alimentation P48 qui traînait. C'est sûr que 48V c'est pas rien pour de l'électronique fine qui fonctionne à des tensions de quelques Volts. Donc j'ai pris cette petite DI pour servir d'adaptateur entre la console et ces appareils. Ca m'évite d'avoir de voir des gens faire la grimace quand ils se rendent compte qu'il ont allumé l'alim fantôme sur la mauvaise tranche... ;)
Sinon elle fait le job correctement. Rien à dire pour le prix.

bad quality

look, I can't believe I paid 33 euro for this
I mean, I wanted to try it, since I like to freak around with sound gear and stuff
but it is bad quality, and you can tell because you have to be very careful about how you connect the mini-jack to whatever device you are using, you have to play with its position in order to get a clean sound, otherwise it will just make noise
look, if you use at home, or for not professional use it's ok, I mean it works, it serves its purpose if you find the position where it doesn't make noise and then don't touch it, but i strongly disrecomment this for professional use, specially if you are on tour and use powerful sound systems, because it will kill your performance

the fact that you can use it with XLR/double jack doesn't compensate the fact that the quaity is bad

Good enough

This is basically the equivalent of the Radial SB5 at a fraction of the price: can't compare the two soundwise since I don't own the Radial, but they share the same features.
I bought it hoping it would be good enough, and it is actually;

- Construction is pretty solid, all connectors and buttons feel tight. The attached cable is also fine, kept in place via a velcro strip glued to the metal frame.

- Sound is ok also, at least thru my home studio. No artifacts, hiss or hum. It doesn't seem to roll off any noticeable low or high frequencies, still have to test it on stage though.

For its low price I'm pretty happy. I guess the Radial has a better transformer and should have a better frequency response, but, for 30€, this is really worth trying.
