The perfect headphones for my taste
AlphaLion 12.03.2024
I'm not an audiophile and have no experience with high end hardware. I can say my opinions only compared to other normal headphones I've used

I absolutely love this headphone and I'm really glad with the purchase. This is one of the few products where I don't question the price after having used it for almost 3 months now. I noticed myself listening to more music than before because it's so enjoyable compared to my older headphones

The Tygr sounds very natural and balanced for my taste, there's nothing I can complain about when it comes to sound quality. What I really like is the base being surprisingly powerful and punchy, even tho it's an open back. I used a Razer Kraken Pro V2 previously, but the Tygr has a more punchy base. However unlike Razer, this one isn't muddy and doesn't overpower the midrange, so the entire frequency range sounds pretty clear to me, it's a joy to listen to

Since it's an open-back, I can hear everything around me, which is something I wasn't expecting to like at all, but I do. Compared to closed-backs feeling claustrophobic, this one feels natural. Tho I live in a quiet environment; if you don't, this might be a bad choice

I've never used other Beyerdynamic headphones so I don't have any base for comparison, but the Tygr doesn't seem to have the typical "Beyer peak" people always mention. No matter what I listen to, nothing spikes like that with this headphone

Positives

• Great sound, clear and balanced with lots of detail imho
• The cable (although short) is rubberised and thicker than usual. It's very flexible, and only transfers a very slight amount of friction noise into the earcups. I can rub it against my shirt and barely hear it
• Light clamping force. It doesn't compress my head but also doesn't want to fall off. It's just perfect
• Nice and simple visual design, good looking packaging
• Comfortable velour pads with thick, soft foam over the drivers
• Thick and soft headband. It seems stiff just by looking at it, but it's actually very soft and spreads the weight evenly
• Lightweight build
• Low impedance drivers. They get more than loud enough for me. I tried on motherboards with high and low end audio chips, and they were both fine. I rarely go over 10-30% Windows volume
• Robust construction
• Like I said I don't have experience with high end audio, but the soundstage of the Tygr is noticeably wider than my previous headphones. It's difficult to describe but the sounds feel like they come from further away than where the drivers actually are. It's not an insane difference from my older closed backs, but it's noticeable. I like it
• What people refer to as "imaging" is excellent I think. Especially in games - if the audio is done well - I can pinpoint exactly where a particular sound came from on both the horizontal and vertical axis
• Since this is more of a semi-open back headphone, there's low sound leakage to the outside. At my normal volume (10-30%) there's almost zero sound escaping through the back

Negatives

• The ear pads could be slightly deeper and larger in diameter. They're perfect for my ears, only the right one just about touches the foam over the driver. Because my ear barely touches the foam it doesn't cause any discomfort, but someone with larger ears may have issues. I wish the pads were like 25-30mm deep and 60mm wide on the opening side to accommodate larger ears. Thankfully there are replacements from brands like Dekoni; I've never used their pads since the stock ones are fine for me but I hear people praise them so they're worth checking out if you dislike the default pads
• I wish the cable was longer. Since it's only 1,6m you may run into issues if you want to plug it into motherboard on the rear IO of your PC
• Non-detachable cable, but I don't really care much about that part
• The content of the box looks bare. Actually there isn't anything missing, but the relatively large box with only the headphone inside made me think I didn't get any accessories at first. Other than the 3,5mm to 1/4" adapter and the cardboard for the headphone there's nothing else in the box (which is fine), but the size of the box compared to the headphone makes you think half the content is missing, even tho it's not
• Cables between earcups could be routed more evenly. I took the headband off to balance the cables' length on the 2 sides
• I wish the cable was routed more securely from the headband to the earcups. It feels sturdy but imho a more elegant way would have been nicer visually, and would have reduced the risk of the cables getting stuck on something
• No volume control. I guess headphones like this were designed with AMPs or DACs in mind where you have a separate volume dial. If you don't, and your PC doesn't have an easy way to change volume it might be annoying to deal with
• I wish there was a white version, it could look so good

TYGR 300R - An amazing pair of gaming headphones
Tex2083 22.09.2022
I got my TYGR 300R's today, and I can safely say these are one of the best headphones I've ever put on my head. I'm no audiophile or a heavy audio enthusiast, and these are perfect for me, the bass is boomy, the sound quality is very good, and since these are open-backs the imaging is very good. The sound leakage is about the same volume as my speakers set to volume 2 or 4. Not that much, and on the inside I can hear everything. Oh and the comfort is, well, comfortable. The earpads are soft, as well as the headband, they are a bit heavier than what I'm used to(I had lightweight on-ear headphones all the time). But at the same time, not like I'm wearing a brick. I feel absolutely no discomfort after wearing them for 3 hours straight(most I've worn them). The cable is about the height of a 15yr old at 1.6m.
Overall, this is a great piece of gaming hardware that you can also listen to music with, and be satisfied with whatever you listen to.

A great pair of headphones
Nemo Nobody 10.02.2023
Comfortable, sturdy, well built and most importantly, sound great. I did have to fiddle with an equalizer to get the sound completely to my liking but after I did they shortly became my favorite headphones.
