Awesome quality for a very reasonable price but needs an amplifier
Ronfontu 25.01.2021
I use this microphone for podcasting.
I first ordered two of these mics without any amplifier (Cloudlifter, Thomann FetAmp, TritonAudio FetHead, Klark Teknik Mic Booster CT1...) and while I got it working, I had to put the gain on my audio interface way too high. I did some more research and it turns out an amplifier (using phantom power) is all you need. Those (especially the cloudlifters) might be expensive but there are alternatives. Here is my reasoning and why I went for the Thomann FetAmp :

The Cloudlifter was a big no considering its price.
The TritonAudio FetAmp seemed to be a nice alternative while still not so cheap.
The KlarkTeknik CT1 was perfect but out of stock and I needed one asap.

I then went for the Thomann FetAmp which does the job perfectly.

The mic itself has an really great build quality! It sounds really good and an external pop filter is not really needed (I don't have one and the p's an b's don't stand out). It doesn't have many features, but it doesn't need to. The sound has a gread "broadcast" effect which may or may not be desired. I highly recommend this.

Great podcast/announcer microphone
damondimento78 08.08.2020
Built like a tank, reassuringly heavy. Needs a good sturdy mic stand.

Needs lots of gain, I use with an external recorder and a USB interface. I find it needs 90% or more of available gain for a close-miked voice.

What it's good for- podcast recording/narrative recording in a fixed location. I haven't used it "on the go", I have lighter dynamic mics which I would use if I was recording on location. You could travel with it, but it wouldn't be the best choice for that purpose.

You also will need a pop shield, although the mic has one built-in, it is not 100% effective.

You will also need to experiment with mic distance and angle of delivery for best results.

For the price it's unbeatable. Apart from the great sound it's very well built and gives reassurance of longevity.

Recommended (this is the second one I've bought).

Great microphone for voice recording (not vocals).
Evgenii_K 24.07.2023
Excellent microphone.
Suitable for podcasts/reviews and anything where you just speak into the microphone.
Not suitable for recording singing or instruments.

pros
- not demanding for the preparation of the premises. Doesn't pick up extra sounds.
- Has a built-in pop filter.
- It is made of tactilely pleasant materials.
- cuts frequencies above 13 kilohertz

cons
- picky about amplification (my card motu m2 copes with it, but without much reserve)
- there is nothing in the kit except for a microphone so do not forget to buy a wire right away.
- pretty heavy. Before buying, it is worth checking whether your microphone boom can hold it.

Be sure to note that this is not a condenser microphone and does not need 48 volt phantom power, otherwise you may feel a little sad after turning on the power that you no longer have a microphone.

Heavy!
Konrad S 08.04.2022
The heaviest microphone that I ever had. Rode quality so you don't need to be aware that something will go bad. Best choice for beginners and for proffesionnals. My podcast started to sound like a pro and my listeners noticed that just after I started to use PodMic.
