Great for storage but not for much else.

The case is very slim, which means it won't take up much space. This makes it excellent for storage. There is a nice, big storage compartment with a lid inside. The case is also very light which makes it easy to carry around.

However...

The construction is rather fragile. They call it a hardcase but it's not really very hard. It will offer more protection than a simple gigbag but no more than an average softcase. Probably less. It's nowhere near as sturdy as a proper hardcase. Don't ever think of sending this case on a plane.

It also has a HUGE flaw that will become apparent if you carry the case around for a while. The problem is that you can't put the case down without it falling over. The narrow width and the stupid location of the little "feet" makes it impossible for the case to stay in an upright position when you put it down. You'll have to keep carrying it until you find a place to lay it carefully on it's back. You simply cannot put it down for a short break, like waiting for a traffic light or whatever. It WILL fall over.

Absoutely NOT recommended for anything except storage.

Bought for a fretless Fender Player Jazz bass, and it's great. Not too heavy, sturdy, all the hinges feel good as do the locks and the handle. There's a handy compartment inside, quite spacious, which was somewhat of a surprise. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, it seems to offer ample protection. Do recommend.

This Gator case is adequate and does the job.
Reasonably well made, nicely finished (if a bit flimsy). Unfortunately it does not hold the body of the instrument in place though, that is, prevent sideways movement when you pick it up. This isn't really a problem however as the interior is well padded so not really an issue after all.

Bien mais un peu fragile

Pour info, une Jazz Bass rentre cet étui mais c'est vraiment juste, juste.
Pratique, car ce Gator est léger et prend peu de place.
Par contre, peu de place = pas beaucoup de place à l'intérieur pour mettre un jack, une sangle, un accordeur...
Je ne suis pas déçu par rapport au prix, mais le revêtement est fragile. Si on touche un mur ou quelque chose de rugueux, c'est tout de suite marqué.
Pour être tatillon, il manque des pieds quand on met le case sur la tranche. Les 4 pieds sont seulement au dos du case, mais qui pose son case sur la dos ?
