Superb guitar.

First thing to mention-this is not a Les Paul.

Might look like one but it is very different in feel and sound and playability. My advice is if you want a les Paul get a Les Paul. This is so much more special in my opinion.

I wanted a Gretsch single cut and looked at this model. Top quality, fit and finish. Sound is great-chimes like a bell. Neck is perfect for me. Not to slim but still round without being too bulky. Handles distortion well too and being a players edition really is more user friendly to restring and switch etc. not a cheap guitar but well worth the money. Top quality instrument. Case supplied is excellent quality too.

Magnifique

Magnifique guitare, aucun défaut de fabrication, que ce soit dans la lutherie, la peinture, l'assemblage… Seul bémol, j'ai du abaisser le micro manche car il sonnait plus fort que le chevalet.

Accastillage haut de gamme et qualitatif: Strap lock, locking tuners, potentiometres a la course très agréable et efficace, treble bleed, capa haut de gamme etc. Tout est bien pensé pour faire d'une guitare classique un vrai outil de travail extremement pratique et agreable à utiliser.

Le manche demande un temps d'accommodation quand on est habitué au profil C très fin de fender. Une fois habitué, c'est un régal, très rapide et très agréable.

Niveau son: Pas de surprise, ça sonne Gretsch.
La guitare en elle même procure un son très riche et agréable. C'est chantant, très fluté et chaud. Ma télécaster Mex me semble très plate maintenant.
Au niveau de la palette sonore, on navique quelque part entre une télécaster qui a du corps, et une les paul qui aurait un son plus fin. C'est très polyvalent tout en restant très typé.

Conclusion: Certes, c'est cher, mais aucun regrets, c'est une guitar" magnifique, soignée, et que l'on garde pour une vie :)
Et au vu des prestations, non, ce n'est pas si cher.

For such a price, expectations become extra high. This guitar has a totally bright, clean sound with depth, it is a chamber in the guitar that gives it an extra push in tone. Everything matches perfectly in quality and the low weight makes it extremely easy to stand and play with. Of course, I have to recommend this guitar in the premium class.

Ich verwende diese Gitarre live für Pop/Rock Acts, sowie im Studio und schätze sie genau für das, was man von einer Gretsch erwarten kann - den einzigartigen Filtertron (Vintage)Sound.

Die Verarbeitung (gefertigt in Japan) ist einwandfrei, nicht zu vergleichen mit den billigeren, in Korea hergestellten Modellen. Es macht einfach Freude, sie in die Hand zu nehmen.

Ich hatte zuvor eine Gitarre von Duesenberg für den gleichen Preis probiert, und muss sagen, dass Gretsch hier die Nase weit vorne hat, was Stimmfestigkeit, allgemeine Verarbeitung und Haptik angeht. Lediglich der Koffer wird seiner Funktion nicht ganz gerecht (zumindest nicht, wenn man viel unterwegs ist) und wird daher bald durch einen neuen ersetzt, was nicht so leicht ist, da die Maße des Korpus etwas eigen sind.

Für mich eine sich lohnende Investition und eine großartige LesPaul-Alternative.

Schwere Empfehlung für Leute, die ein etwas größeres Budget haben und etwas mit Filtertron-Sound anfangen können.
