I had a string buzz because of poorly cut nut, after 10 seconds with this file the buzz is gone.

Cheap, bends, hard to cut straight

The snake oil business of cutting nut slots.

This is a cheap file and you can cut slots with it, but it bends and its hard to get a straight cut.

Its cheap thats good.

But, cuts a course cut. I mean,
Its not worse than all the other files.

But honestly, after some deep googling old luthiers, the right tools for cutting nut slots are jewelers files and such. Completely round, fine, tiny rat tail jeweler files. Cuts a smooth completely round cut. But ofcourse nobody tells you that. Instead they sell you these wobbly course files that are virtially impossible to cut a straight round cut.

You can even get far with cheap chinese diamond round files on your usualy Chinese markets.

Cutting nut slots is not rocket science, theres alot of bull...

But if you practice you can cut your 0.12-0.16 slots with these.

Gutes Werkzeug kostet Geld

Vielleicht ist das eine der zentralen Lehren, die Bestandteil meiner Erziehung war. Diese Lehre spiegelt sich auch im Werkzeugfundus meines Vaters wieder. Und in 95% der Fälle hat sich das auch in meinem Leben immer bestätigt. Will heißen, habe ich erst das billige, vermeintlich ausreichende Werkzeug gekauft, dann hab ich irgendwann nochmal Geld für eben die gute Qualität ausgegeben. So auch geschehen mit Bundfeilen. Auch hier hab ich die billige Fassung schon hinter mich gebracht und nun nochmal etwas Geld für die Maxparts ausgegeben. Für so ein Ministück an Werkzeug scheint der Preis erstmal teuer. Aber so semi-professionell wie ich das Werkzeug einsetzen werde, werde ich die Bundfeilen wohl den Rest meines Lebens benutzen, und dann relativiert sich der Preis schnell wieder. Der Eindruck der Maxparts Feilen ist auf jeden Fall sehr gut und ich bescheinige ihnen deshalb auch eine gute Note und ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.
