Great upgrade- as good as you will ever need

I have put a number of these onto my snare drums. They are really well made and provide a really sensitive response. I can't tell the difference between using these and the really expensive brass ones Pearl offer. What is good about these over the standard 022 snare is that they have indents where the snare string goes, so that the width of the string doesn't lift the snare away from the head, maintaining a really good response.

I have experimented over the years with most of the top of the range snares available, and I have settled on these as I can't tell the difference. Provided you tune your snare drum well, this is all you need. I would say that they do work better with a remo ambassador snare head, with the diplomat thinner snare head I found that rather than getting extra sensitivity, I got a fatter tone I wasn't really after, but that is more to do with the diplomat head than it is to do with this particular snare.

Ich habe diesen Pearl Teppich in einer Gruppe von billig bis sehr teuer verglichen und kann einen guten Klang und vernünftige Ansprache attestieren. Die Verarbeitung war ebenfalls gut - da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden.
Im Vergleich zu einem Tama Teppich für nur wenig mehr Geld (Tama MS20RL14C ) wirkt die gleiche Trommel mit diesem Pearl Teppich etwas "roher", die Ansprache ist nicht ganz so präzise und der Klang ist nicht ganz so fein. Ich würde diese Unterschiede jedoch schon in den Bereich Geschmackssache einordnen. Dieser "Standard"-Teppich von Pearl klang deutlich besser als der vorher montierte Markenteppich auf meiner Snare (der allerdings auch schon fünf Jahre montiert war). Auch wenn ich für meine Trommel einen anderen Teppich gewählt habe, kann ich den Pearl trotzdem empfehlen - solides Material mit guter Verarbeitung und gutem Klang.

Es raschelt...

Von dem Sound war ich begeistert, er gab meiner alten Billig-Snare einen viel besseren Klang. Allerdings gab es zwei Nachteile:
Immer, wenn ich jetzt meine Base oder Tom 3 spiele, raschelt der Teppich leise, aber lange, das stört ein bisschen. Egal was ich verändere, es raschelt trotzdem (aber jetzt nicht soooo schlimm, trotzdem einen Stern für Sound weniger).

Außerdem sind BEIDE Nylonschnüre sofort gerissen!!! Ich habe mir zum Glück noch Ersatzschnüre mitbestellt, die halten jetzt sehr zuverlässig. Deshalb einen Stern abzug in Verarbeitung.

Es hat sich aber gelohnt!!! Gerne wieder!!!
