Good for pizz

Gave them a try as a manouche bass player and liked them very much. Much more zing than any other strings I've tried. They stay in tune no matter what and the sound still stands after a year of gigging regularly. The moment I tried doing some orchestra work though I instantly had to change them. You don't want that kind of zing there. Anyway, as advertised, very good jazz strings :)

A must for all occasional upright players as I am.

Nothing to criticize, those strings are perfect for upright players playing with fingers. And even with a bow, they have a good respons.

Estables, cómodas y con definición.

Como todas las cuerdas Pirastro, la construcción es óptima. El entorchado es muy sólido.

Se mantienen afinadas desde el mismo momento en que las colocas.

La tensión es similar a las Pirazzi Weichs, lo que es equivalente a un tensión media de cualquier otro fabricante.

El calibre de la cuerda es algo superior al de unas Spiros o unas Helicore, pero algo inferior a unas Pirazzi. Particularmente, me parece óptimo.

El sonido no me ha parecido tan brillante como esperaba, y habrá que ver cómo envejecen las cuerdas. En todo caso, es muy definido.

El volumen es lo que más me ha sorprendido. Muy alto. Similar al de unas Pirazzi regulars.

Bien para pizz, y perfectamente usables con arco. No he notado diferencia alguna con las Pirazzi.

Edito un año después:

Las cuerdas han envejecido bien "físicamente".Su sonido, sin embargo, se apagó antes que el de las Pirazzi. La afinación siempre se ha mantenido muy estable.

Pirastro (The jazzer) - Cordes pour contrebasse

Je suis satisfait de ces cordes et j'en commande régulièrement. Elles ont un très bon son et un très bon sustain, ce qui est idéal pour un jazzman.
Toutefois, elles n'ont pas une grande durée de vie. Quand on joue très fréquemment, il faut les changer tous les 9 mois au maximum. D'où je pense que le prix est trop élevé. Mais c'est le cas de tous les autres jeux de cordes de contrebasse, quelle que soit la marque. Bien entendu, la durée de vie dépend avant tout de l'utilisation fréquente ou non de la contrebasse et de la manière de jouer du musicien. Les cordes s'usent plus raidement en pizzicato qu'à l'archet et, en jazz, on joue très souvent en pizzicato.

Ces cordes ne sont intéressantes que pour le pizz. Pour l'archet, le son est trop métallique et je préfère incontestablement les Evah Pirazzi 449010, plus naturelles.
