Rode Boompole
This boom pole will get the job done for any sound recordist or boom operator.
This is another great product from Rode. The boom itself has some pros and some cons. Firstly the pole performs well in any audiovisual situation. For example documentary,TV or Film. Especially in situations where there is quiet a distance from the crew to the subject. The locking system can be cumbersome at times but is generally good and strong.
However the pole can be heavy even when not extended. This is because of the materials and the size of the build. Which means that it can give a strain to the boom operator if recording for lengthy periods. Another problem is the head of the pole. When a fitting ( Blimp ) is attached and tightened it can still feel loose.
All in all a good strong boom pole. I will definitely keep the one I have and may look into the mini series rode has to offer.

Amazing quality
It's not cheap but for the length its able to do i thought there would still be some flex or wobble to it or it would be too heavy to use easily. but this thing is so light and the tolerance of the build quality are so good that at full length it is rock solid. I've seen some reviews say it is heavy, but i dont know what those people are thinking. for somethig made of metal thats 3 meters long i could hold this thing up for ages. Maybe those peopel have never picked up a weight in their life, i dont know but anyone who is a boom operator i think this is the lightest you will get before paying for something made of carbon fiber.
The mechanism on the adjustable lenghts is strong, and easy to use.

Not great, not terrible
XLR cable can be easily fitted inside without any soldering but it's a shame that it doesn't have internal cable built in. I'll probably try to build one in myself.
Sometimes it's harder to tighten the rings because the tube is turning but if the previous ring is tight enough than it's fine.
The packaging paper tube broke the first day but I suppose it's just for shipping and it's not meant to be used for transport.
Otherwise great peace of kit!

It's stable although heavy
It's a heavy boom, but it's stable and for small extension lengths it's great for hand-holding. Most of the time I use it with a Manfrotto super clamp on a lightstand.
It's good to have a Manfrotto 015 Adapter 1/4" - 3/8" too for some mic holders' threads sizes.

rode boom pole
I found after a while the boom pole tended to loose its grip on the extensions , and could get a little squeaky at the top after a year or so using it several times a week.
But still a well worthwhile investment and I would purchase another if I had to.
I can only compare it to the real professional boom poles that are carbon fiber and are very expensive so for the money the Rode Boom poles are well worth it.

Rode Boompole
Very nice, durable and well made boompole. It's a little heavy, but not so heavy that you can't handle it. And also love that you can fit your cable inside of the boompole and you can adjust your boom length without any problems. To be honest it serves pretty well for that money. I don't regeret the purchase.

Rode Boompole
We bought this for a short comedy show we were hired to do sound and light for in a small hotel. We gave the main cast members headset mics and then used this with a Sennheiser rifle mic and Sennheiser wireless transmitter to pick up the lines from the other secondary cast members.
The long reach of the boom made it very easy to do this, as we were able to get the mic in close enough to pick up what the actors were saying, but we were able to stay out of the way and not obstruct the audiences view. Obviously, when it is fully extended, it feels quite heavy and you wouldn't be able to hold it up for too long, but this is the same with any boom pole.
The build quality is excellent, as you would expect from Rode and it also comes with some velcro ties to tie a mic cable to the boom pole without having to use tape.
Highly Recommended.
