I used the melodica on an open mic night, with no prior knowledge of the tunes. It was funky/blues/rock.

First of all I did not realise that all the keys are black. this means if you use the short mouthpiece it is difficult to see where you are on the keyboard. I would prefer black & white keys.

There are a few notes that are a little out of tune, but I suppose that is to be expected considering how cheap it is, and it does make it sound a bit like an accordian.

Using the long mouth-pipe it felt very comfortable playing one-handed with my left hand holding the instrument via the handle.

Playing 2-handed resting on a table, or my lap would definitely be easier if the pipe was a bit longer.

The instrument is quite loud, particularly when playing single notes.

Over=all I am happy with this instrument.

Not a professional Instrument though. Some pipes will sound more or less in tune than others in combination. But for this price it's so so so good and of course melodies will sound awesome.
It's very well crafted too. This friend will definitely last forever.

It's a simple basic melodica

As the headline says it's a simple basic melodica with nothing more and nothing less. It comes with a great bag to carry it and it sounds very good! The whole construction looks stable and it's made of plastic it may look cheap but it isn't. I have a ton of fun playing with this melodica and in the studio when I record it, it has a great frequency spectrum not to high not too low frequencies.

This has fantastic looks, but more importantly, the notes are well tuned. I would prefer a bit more room in the case, but for the low price, it's fine. I am ordering a second one to keep at work in case inspiration strikes. I have played melodica at "open mic" nights and this will impress if I also wear black!
