That Prog feeling right from the 70s, wet and punchy!

Very good product! As a drummer, my style ranges from 70s Prog and Psych Rock to Indie and I bought this set for my first Drum Set (Yamaha Stage Custom with 12" and 14" and 18" Toms).
I remember that I was really satisfied with the sound they made right out of the box, they must be tuned a little bit lower, better frequences.
It does really improve your drum set sound but cuts a little bit on the sustain (because of the oil between layers). For me that's not really a problem.
Don't be scared if (with regular playing) they appear really used, its normal in these heads.
It does really fit the genres I play as I preffer a instant attack on the toms, and they do really punch quite hard, don't sound (at all) "muddy" if tunned right.
Evans is very good brand and this set is really easy to get in tune.
It does feel right, it sounds right!

Evans Hydraulic Tom Set

Having used evans skins for a while, i knew that my next purchase was always going to be another evans tom pack. for sometime i have been using ec2's as i play mostly metal music and i have been known to hit quite hard!so i personally have always found the thicker skins a safer investment for myself. under first impressions i find these skins are definitely going to be purchased again. they tune so, so easily and are so forgiving.
they tuned in easily and after about 4 hours use i am so happy i purchased them. i would almost definitely recommend these to anybody wanting a tom pack that for their drum set.

Instant 70s toms

Perfect for soul, jazzier hiphop, reggae, funk etc. Wide range of tuning that works on these heads, and can be tuned lower than any other tom head I've tried over my 20+ years drumming and still work, retain their tone and tuning. For extra damping I also put on some Evans clear plastic damping rings to make it even more tea-towel on drums, small, fully carpeted dead basement studio sounding.
Will last a long time and a good skin to have, at least to have tried - if you like me like a strong fundamental and shorter tom sounds on the styles of music described above.
