One step ahead

To me, Steppy is no-brainer. It has 4 tracks, each 64 steps. You can do so much with this that it is a must-have, imho.
And it is easy to operate, the layout is really well thought out. The buttons are precise and makes you confident as a user.

I use it to trigger envelopes, switches, and events in my rack. I am actually thinking of buying one more. When my rack grows... :-)

And I must add, I trust Thomann, they always fulfill their part of the deal, and I say that because one time there was an item missing in a package I received, which can happen to anyone, even the best, but they sorted it out professionally and that made me happy as a customer.

Great little rythm sequencer

4 tracks with up to 64 steps each, easily accessible clock division, mutes and much more.
It is fairly easy to learn and extremely powerful.
I use it for drums and sometimes to send an extra clock somewhere.
Like all Intellijel products it is well built and highly stable.

Wie bin ich nur die ganze Zeit ohne den Steppy ausgekommen? Ein 4-Kanal Gate-Sequencer mit bis zu 64 steps inklusive Swing, gate delay und einstellbarer clock division pro Kanal. Es können pro Step mehrere Gates eingestellt werden (ratcheting), oder ob jeder Step nach eingestellter Wahrscheinlichkeit ein Gate auslöst. es gibt auch Features, die auch für den Live-Betrieb konzipiert wurden, wie das spontane Stummschalten eines Kanals oder die Möglichkeit, die Wiedergabe zwischen zwei Punkten zu loopen. Die Pattern können auch gespeichert werden.
Die Taster sind beleuchtet (rot, grün, gelb) und haben einen angenehm spürbaren Druckpunkt, sind aber für den einen oder anderen Zeitgenossen vielleicht zu klein (gut, wenn ich große Hände hätte, dann hätte ich ein 5U-System). Ja, das Modul ist nicht analog, und ich mag eigentlich auch keine digitalen Module, bei denen man in einem Menü nach dem gewünschten Parameter wühlen muss. Aber beim Steppy ist das Ganze sehr gut gelöst - es gibt den select- und den edit-Taster, und auf der Frontplatte ist eigentlich sehr gut gekennzeichnet, welche Funktion sich hinter welchem Taster verbirgt, sodass man das Modul fast intuitiv bedienen kann. Ein Blick in die sehr gute Anleitung vermittelt aber sehr schnell, wie man an die gesuchte Funktion herankommt.
Spaß macht der Steppy allemal, wenn man mal schnell mit seinen Drum-Modulen jammen will. Und wenn man in die Tiefe geht, kann man sehr komplexe Polyrhythmen mit ratcheting programmieren. Es gibt günstigere Step-Sequencer, aber keinen in 8HP mit vier Kanälen und bis zu 64 Steps - also ideal für kleinere Systeme.
