déjà 4 ans que je l'utilise dans mon studio de mastering sur chaque albums,
c'est bien le compresseur le plus doux et le plus musical que je connaisse, il épaissi en douceur tous les mix, il est capable de colorer des transitoires sans jamais apparaitre comme un compresseur, les calmer ou au contraire les dynamiser, et surtout son point fort et l'évidente facilitée avec la quelle on peut lier un mix.
j'adore cette machine, en mastering biensur, mais aussi en live en insert sur le bus LR de la console, sur des drum en studio et c'est le seul que j'utilise en musique classique, si j'ai besoin de baisser un peu la dynamique.

The musical Compressor

7 years have passed since we used the Vari-Mu on every audio recording. Bought it especially for mastering and there is were it shines. There is no plug-in in the world that even comes close to this truly musical compressor. It?s ?alive? and you can ?feel? it. Everyone agrees that this is your bowl of ?cream? for your mix, And it is! This is possible due ?8 tubes? in the unit. Your low end in your mix will not be destroyed with this compressor. It is warm, tight and musical. The HP SC are ?Brilliant?. You can actually describe it in one word ?Transparant?. We?ve never heard this anywhere else. Things never get too nasty with this unit so it makes the handling and decisions in sound a lot easier. Advise: get rid of your poor sound and buy this solution. It will serve you for many years to come and that?s also because of the build quality (It?s exceptionally well made) If i can come up with anything less useful, the limiting mode has not really had any meaning to us. But it might work for you. It?s Almost 2019 and the ?Tubes? still rule! Thanks to Manley Labs! And Eve-Anna Manley.

Ich verwende den VariMu hauptsächlich als Summenkompressor. Über den Sound noch viele Worte zu verlieren ist ziemlich unnötig- das Teil ist schließlich aus gutem Grund fester Bestandteil vieler Topstudios. Angenehm fällt auf, daß die Regelbereiche so gewählt wurden, daß das Kompressions-/ Limitingverhalten auch bei zu gut gemeinten Einstellungen immer noch sehr musikalisch bleibt. Der angenehmste Effekt stellt sich m.E. ein, wenn die Zeigerinstrumente sich nur wenig bewegen- so bleibt der Klang tonal fast unverändert, wirkt aber ?dichter? und ?massiver?. Gut auch, daß der früher nur als Option erhältliche HP Sidechain jetzt serienmäßig ist, bei aktivierter Funktion bleibt der Bassbereich weitgehend unbeeinträchtigt, was bei sehr basslastigen Tracks sehr hilfreich sein kann. Durch die echten Bypass- Schalter sind aussagekräftige Vergleiche möglich. Der Preis des VariMu ist sicher hoch, aber der Verarbeitung angemessen, die verwendeten Bauteile sind allesamt äußerst hochwertig. Durch die insgesamt 8 Röhren im Gerät wird das Teil richtig heiß, deshalb den Hinweis, mindestens 1 HE um das Gerät frei zu lassen oder oder Lüftungsblenden zu verwenden, ernst nehmen. Zusammengefasst ein echter Klassiker mit zeitlosem Design, angenehmer Bedienung und äußerst hochwertiger Verarbeitung: klare Empfehlung. Wie immer bei meinen Bestellungen bei Thomann: Service und Abwicklung perfekt.
