It stay with me...

I have tried and used different reverb pedals, but after buying Neunaber Illumine, I realized - it stays with me. Create an authentic Room - perfect, create a natural Plate - perfect, create a pleasant-sounding Chorusy reverb - perfect, plus Neunaber WET reverb algorithms - delicious, plus much more. And you know, it has midi, and expression. For so many options, it saves space on the pedalboard. If you know how to handle a smartphone, you will quickly understand how to adjust the parameters of the desired effects, Oh no, it's easier. Built like a tank, but... under my pedal display cover, which is soft plastic (why not harder plastic!!!) there are two bubbles, probably caused by dust, similar to what happens under a phone screen protector. This does not affect the sound quality of the Neunaber Illumine in any way!

Es ist nicht mein erstes Neunaber Pedal, und ich liebe sie alle. Das Illumine hält dabei alles, was es verspricht: Tolle Reverb-Algorithmen der besten Kategorie. Der Klang ist ein Traum. Es gibt viele verschiedene Reverbs, die man auch noch durch viele Einstellungen tweaken kann. Das Gerät ist definitiv nicht nur für Gitarristen, sondern auch für Keys geeignet, dabei aber auch mehr für Solo-Künstler oder Ambient-Freaks konzipiert, denn die sehr pointierten und subtilen Hallfahnen gehen im Bandkontext eher unter. Für Bands empfehle ich robustere, weniger feine Reverbs. Natürlich kann man diese Reverbs auch jederzeit mit dem Illumine erreichen, aber dann schießt man mit Kanonen auf Spatzen. Die Hallfahnen des Illumine sind so schön, dass man sie eher nicht stören und im Raum stehen lassen möchte.

Die Hardware ist solide, sehr gut verarbeitet und absolut Road-tauglich. Das besondere Plus ist die Größe. Es ist erstaunlich klein und passt damit wohl auf jedes Pedal-Board.

Die Bedienung ist einfach, obwohl man ja eigentlich nur zwei Knöpfe hat. Das Konzept ist aber so durchdacht, dass man sich nur drei, vier Sachen merken muss, um mit der Menüführung klar zu kommen. Das ist eine der echten Stärken des Illumine.

Während ich den Text schreibe, wurde der Preis von nahezu 550,- € auf 400,- € runter gesetzt. Das ist ein angemessener Preis. Ich wollte gerade schreiben, dass nur der Preis zu wünschen übrig lässt, das hat sich jetzt aber erledigt... Gott sei Dank, denn jetzt kann ich das Gerät uneingeschränkt für Ambient-Freaks und Solo-Künstler empfehlen.

Super gut zu bedienen, nicht alle Sounds ideal

Eigentlich gefällt mir das Teil sehr gut. Man schaltet es ein, geht per Endlos-Drehgeber die 50 Factory-Presets durch und findet auf Anhieb brauchbaren Hall. Also das, was bei Strymon und auch Eventide meist etwas schwieriger ist, wenn man einfach nur Hall haben möchte.

Mein Meckern spielt sich daher auf sehr hohem Niveau ab und ich habe lange überlegt, wie viele Sterne ich denn nun in der Gesamtheit vergebe. Da ich das Gerät behalten habe und auch viel einsetze, bin ich dann bei 5 geblieben. Eigentlich stört mich neben dem recht stolzen Preis nämlich nur, dass ich bei den Parametern nicht Höhen und Tiefen separat einstellen kann. Dadurch bleiben einige Sounds doch etwas eingeschnürt -- etwa im Vergleich zum Boss RV-500.

Dadurch hat sich das RV-500, bei dem mich vor allem die Bedienung nervt, doch wieder etwas Achtung bei mir verschafft. Mancher wirft den Boss-Geräten ja hinsichtlich Sound eine gewisse Sterilität vor -- was ich jetzt nicht vehement abstreiten will. Aber bei Hall und Delay ist mir das ehrlich gesagt sehr willkommen.

Není třeba mnoho slov - tohle je pro moje uši nejlepší reverb, který jsem kdy slyšel. Mám už dlouho Immers II, zde je navíc 50 uživatelských presetů a několik nových algoritmů. Jediná malá výtka- ovládání je trochu složitější, je dobré číst návod.
