Does not fit on Hofner Contemporary 500/1

The end of these strings is too thick to fit through the tuning peg holes on my Hofner Contemporary 500/1 which is really infuriating since this set is supposed to be made especially for Hofner Violin basses.
Since I wasn't able to install them on my bass I can't comment on the sound of the strings..

voller Sound auf Beatles Stil Bässen

Ich hatte aus der Musikercommunity einen Tip erhalten, den typischen not-so-hifi Sound der Beatles mit diesen Seiten zu probieren. Und siehe da, es ist geglückt. Ich habe einen Johnson Baltimore Violinenbass erworben und war hoch erfreut über satte Bässe und einen rundherum ausgelichenen Sound.

Direkt im Mischplult oder Audiointerface kommt das nicht so zur Geltung, aber an einem Ashdown Transistorverstärker und einer Ashdown 8x10 Box ein unschlagbar origineller Sound. Nicht Kontrabass, nicht E-Bass mit Flatwound Saiten, sondern fast eine eigene Klangrichtung.

Mit Stahlsaiten klang er nur wie ein holes Stück Holz, mit den Pyramid Saiten erhalt man einen vollen und auch warmen Sound. Mehr Sustain wie Paul Mc.C vor 60 Jahren, aber wie gesagt so insgesamt gefallen mir die Saiten sehr.

Der schwarz umwickelte Teil paßt exakt in die für 33" Saitenlänge von dem Saitenhalter und dem Sattel. Aber auch kein Platz für Drop Tunings, hinter dem Sattel ist echt nur noch 8 mm Luft. Sie sind aber an den gelb umwickelten Enden sogar so lang, daß man wie im Rooftop Konzert aussehen kann, mit 20 cm überstehnden gelben Enden. Ich hab sie abgeschnitten... der Sattel war ohnehin schon für 55-112 aufgefeilt. Passen perfekt. Tolle Idee von Pyramid.
