Nice combination of soft case and hardshell

I was looking for a case that could be transported on my back, so I would have free hands to take other guitar stuff. And I also wanted something that would provide the same level of protection to the electric guitar as the hard shell has been providing to my acoustic for years already.
This "soft case" from SKB fulfills both my requirements, since it is lightweight and portable like soft cases, but with inner design and protection like hard shells.
Standard Fender Stratocaster fits perfectly (with tremolo arm detached), together with few sets of strings, cable and strap.
I have been using it to transport my guitar several times per week for over 4 months and no sign of wear till now.
The only drawback I see is that it is not possible to fit an A4 sheet in the front pocket. The pocket is too small for this size of sheet.

So in a nutshell:
Lightweight, backpack-like with hard case properties (protection level, inner design). The front pocket can not accommodate A4 sheets.

Life saver

I've been looking for this kind of guitar case in many places and it was not easy to find it.
It is super comfortable in all aspects:
• the guitar sits in it warm and safe,
• the case is lightweight,
• back straps allow carrying heavy guitar for long distances easily.

very protective soft case

This is a soft case, which means an almost totally rigid bag which offers the same level of protection of a case. The padding is thick and will not deform easily. The interior is plush and soft. I bought it for a G&L Tele and this fits very snugly at the bottom of the body, which is a plus a this provides a firm hold of the whole guitar. The nylon material for the exterior is thick and rich, stitching and zippers are good quality and sturdy. The pockets are well made and useful. One minus point is that for some strange reason the case tips over when laid on the ground on the long bottom side (despite the plastic feet for this), due probably to weight unbalance. Note that this happens both when the case is empty and with a guitar in it. I find this strange. Another minus points is that this case is not light weight, not small. It is probably the drawback of the thick protective padding that is used.

If you have a guitar with a Floyd Rose, this is the one to get. It will not fit in its rectangular brother, the SC66! This case feels like good quality as SKB cases normally do but what sucks is how the only feet are along the straight edge and when a guitar is in the case it falls over when placed on them. It would have been nice to at least have some feet on the bottom to stand upright!
